These are just a few of the most widely known weight loss programs or diet plans or weight loss plans, whatever you prefer to call them they all have the same purpose - to help you lose weight. Volumetrics Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
Volumetrics is base on research done at Penn State. The diet tried to minimize the amount of food per calorie. using reduced fat products , a liberal addition of veggies and low fat cooking. It suggest a first curser of broth-based soup or a low calorie salad to help curb the appetite.
Weight Watchers Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
Weight Watchers uses meetings and weigh-ins for motivation and behavioural support for ay exercise and diet changes. You can sign up online also. A dieter can earn or spend points with and exercise or eat specific foods with the 'core' plan. A vegetarian menu is also available.
Jenny Craig Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
Jenny Craig dieters sign up for individual counseling and some meal plans at their company locations either by phone or online. The central theme of the diet is to eat Jenny Craig prepared food which are single serving entrees and snacks. This is supplemented by dairy salads and other veggies that you can fix yourself. A vegetarian menu is also available.
Slim-Fast Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
Slim-Fast is a line of controlled calorie shakes and bars that are widely available in grocery stores and some drugstores. They have weekly menus available. On their standard meal diet plan you can have a bar or shake for breakfast and lunch with added food. For dinner you have just a low calorie meal that you fix.
eDiets Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
eDiets is an online subscription diet website that has been around for awhile and offers 24 meal diet plans that are customized for various eating preferences and your desired weight loss. Membership in eDiets includes total access to their support groups, experts, menu plans and recipes. Their weekly menu meets dietary guidelines and delivers the promised number of calories.
The Zone Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
The Zone diet is Barry Sears discovery - He believes the ideal balance of foods is to keep blood sugar and hormones ready to fight off obesity issues and disease. Every meal must consist of about 30% fat calories, 30% protein calories and 40% carbs. The Zone diet allows for many fruits and mostly no grains except for oatmeal.
Ornish Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
The Ornish Diet is a very low fat vegetarian diet which bans all meat, fish, oils, alcohol, sugar and white flour. Dr. Ornish's studies have shown that strictly following the diet can prevent and reverse various diseases. He feels it's easier to make radical changes in the diet rather than small ones.
Atkins Diet Plan or Weight Loss Program
The Atkins diet is a low carb diet that starts with a 2 week induction period that bans just about all carbs. The longer ongoing weight loss part is only a little less restrictive gradually adding more veggies, fruit and wine.
Weight Loss Programs - Weight Loss Groups
There exist both profit-oriented and non-profit weight loss organizations that help people in their weight loss efforts. An example of the former is Weight Watchers; examples of the latter include Overeaters Anonymous, as well as a multitude of non-branded support groups run by local churches, hospitals, and similar like-minded individuals.
These organizations' customs and practices differ widely. Some groups are modelled on twelve-step programs, while others are quite informal. Some groups advocate certain prepared foods or special menus, while others train dieters to make healthy choices from restaurant menus and while grocery-shopping and cooking at home.
Most weight loss groups leverage the power of group meetings to provide counseling, emotional support, problem-solving, and helpful and useful information.
Make sure you do plenty of research on these weight loss programs or diet plans or weight loss plans before you start. The cost of these diet plans may be a factor so make sure to consider that too. Sometimes people who want to lose weight, lose pounds and lose inches will go full steam ahead without properly doing their research.
